Candycane
Smurf
The
fake Candycane smurf is actually quite easy to spot
if you know what to look for. The markings are always
Hong Kong whereas Portugal markings are all genuine.
There is a genuine smurf also with Hong Kong markings
but the fake smurfs have very blurry markings and the
majority of smurfs with Hong Kong markings are the fakes.
The obvious signs of a fake though are the colours.
The genuine smurf has much lighter blue skin and the
red and pink on the cane and bow are also lighter in
colour. The fake smurf has much darker skin and although
the difference is less, the red and pink on the fake
smurf are again both darker. There are many of these
fakes around and are often sold with no mention of them
being fake so please be aware and if need be, ask the
seller about the markings. |

Praying
Smurf & Smurfette
The
fake praying smurf and smurfette are a lot more difficult
to spot, especially from a photo. Generally their skin
colour is slighty darker than the genuine figures, the
seams are more visable running down the front of their
faces, the markings on the fakes are quite blurry and
messy. Also worth looking at is the shape of the face
as it seems to be broader on the genuine figures and
we have noticed that our fakes have no gap between the
hands and face whilst the genuine smurf and smurfette
do.
The
easiest way to to learn what to look for is to see the
genuine and fake smurfs together. Please click on the
