The Smurfs Movie

There have been rumours of a smurf movie for many years now. With so many other retro films being released there had always been hope and although the rumours about the smurfs making a comeback had excited smurf fans all around the world, nothing concrete was proven. At one point there were even rumours that Jeff Goldblum would be providing the voice of Gargamel but these later turned out to be false.

In July 2005 smurf fans were finally put out of their misery when plans to release a trilogy of smurf movies were revealed. The first film is due for release in 2008 which is also the 50th anniversary of the little blue guys. Paramount have acquired the film rights and Nickelodeon Movies are said to be producing the 3D animated.
